2025 Big Truck across the Southeast, day 8

Day 8 started early for me - the Open Championship started, and since its being played in Ireland, the broadcast started at 4am. I never get to see the early rounds, so this was a bit of a treat. This is the course they are playing
With there being some indecision on the day's plans, I decided to head up the street to watch golf on the big screen. It ended up being the perfect environment to keep up on the Open and give the planning commission some time.
I returned just in time to catch them heading to the pool, since the beach was currently at a double red flag condition. We decided the pool was a better option for the moment.
From here, we wanted to get back in the waves, but were not ready for the beating we took yesterday, so we bought a bit more time and then headed to South Beach.
This time it was perfect - some gradual rollers to get us back into it, a manageable rip current, and a few crashers here and there to keep it interesting. We played for a while, then said our goodbye to the ocean for now.
Although we've eaten at a lot of cool spots along this trip, we had yet to try a beachfront place. Enter, The Deck.
Once we returned and started prepping the big truck for tomorrow's drive, it quickly became time for our final sunset here. It did not disappoint.
We were then treated to a full dolphin show, with a pod of them playing and jumping against this incredible backdrop.
While we were watching the dolphins, Jordan noticed that Henry (all herons are Henry, in honor of Henry the heron that lives back home at Barlow Lake) had come to pay us a visit.
As we headed back to the campsite, Kimberly discovered this little guy. We were definitely getting the full nature experience this evening.
There was a bit of consternation when we returned, as the keys to enter the motorhome had somehow gone missing. After a quick search, we had to retrace our steps with nothing but our iphone lights. Jordan and I took off and were almost back to the beach when we got the text that Kimberly had found them, they fell out of the bag right in front of the big truck. Crisis averted. Tomorrow - pack up early, return to the mainland, and head to Congaree National Park.
